Opinion is a flitting thing,
But Truth, outlasts the Sun—
If then we cannot own them both—
Possess the oldest one—
Emily Dickinson
This months’ poem is a reflective/opinion piece with a spiritual twist – it resonates with my truth…
As Autumn warms with her cool embrace – may you find what resonates with you…

9.11.16 GOD PAID THE PRICE…
I have been contemplating deeply
The holy trinity – spirituality.
Conversations with a friend
Have brought clarity and connection.
What does spirituality mean to you?
I have an open mind and heart
When it comes to this.
Jesus, God, Buddha, Mohammed,
Mother Earth, The Angels and Spirit Guides.
I see the wisdom in indigenous cultures.
I keep my mind, eyes and spirit open to it all.
I now understand I was not angry with God
But with mans’ perception and representation of him.
How can religious institutions
Hold their heads high
When they allow abuse
To fly under the radar?
My husband recalls being told about two of
Sydney’s biggest underworld figures
Going to his local church on a Sunday
Placing wads of cash in the plate.
Were all their sins
Just washed away
Because they had
Some dollars to pay??
People can attack, berate, abuse, yet walk into a
‘Place of worship’ as though nothing sinister happened.
I am sure there were many like me
Who got jaded by this hypocrisy.
It is man
Who has
Tarnished religion
Yet God paid the price…
