EVERYBODY HAS A STORY TO TELL…JUNE 2016…

EVERYBODY HAS A STORY TO TELL…JUNE 2016…

I sit here on a peaceful Sunday morning observing the rain falling, droplets racing down our double glazed window pane with scribbly gums in the background bursting into shades of green and orange as they absorb a much needed shower. The simplicity and beauty of nature is such a gift to uplift us all if we stay still and silent enough to observe her wisdoms.

I feel I am learning so much lately. Situations and happenings that are no co-incidence – they are lessons and powerful ones too!!

Often these lessons – the powerful ones – occur because we don’t heed the subtle ones. They can be a great impetus for change.

In last months edition of the ‘Echo’ Elizabeth wrote about Opportunity. Her words resonated with me.

We have to be brave to take opportunity as this often involves change at some level. We have to listen to the inner voice, separate ourselves from the past and that which no longer serves us as we walk slowly, purposefully towards our future. We have to heed the lessons…

The amazing enigma that is life!! So much to do…so much to learn…

This months poem is a tribute to Charlie Roberson. A man I was most fortunate to know and share many a conversation with…In our hearts and memories…

Until next month…Heed the lessons and take the opportunities…Lee xx

1.6.16 THE DAY THAT WINTER CRIED

The 1st of June 2016.

The day that winter cried.

The news came that a mighty

Snowy River man had died.

A man who knew these mountains

And the spirits held within.

A man who served community

His country, friends and kin.

A long, full life – children and wife

Respected, loved, admired.

A man with much to do, to share.

He never quite retired.

We all have our fond memories

Of times and stories shared.

Reflecting on a veteran true

Who showed us all he cared.

So farewell Charlie Roberson

Just shy of ninety-seven.

At peace in ‘greener pastures’

With your Snowy mates in heaven…
